Thief snatched phone from woman's hand

Police are hunting a man who snatched a mobile phone from a woman's hands as she sat at a Blackpool bus stop.

The theft happened on Thursday in Abingdon Street in Blackpool town centre, close to the British Heart Foundation charity shop.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We were called at around 1.30pm on Thursday to reports of a theft.

“The incident happened at around 1.15pm.

“A 26-year-old woman was sitting at a bus shelter talking on her phone when she was approached by a man.

“He has snatched the phone from her hand and run away from the scene.”

The woman was speaking on a granite coloured Apple iPhone 6 plus with a value of around £700.

A man was captured on CCTV running away from the scene.

Officer are now asking that man to come forward and assist with their enquiries.
