AFTER more than 30 years in the kitchen, a school cook has hung up her apron for the final time.
Christine Bailey served up her final lunch at St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School, in Bispham, last week, and waved a tearful goodbye as she retired after more than three decades at the Devonshire Road school.
Headteacher Michelle Holden said: “Everybody will be very sad to see her go, she is such a lovely lady and she has made the meals at school for 32 years.
“She also helps clean the school and she’s fantastic with the children.
“They all gave her three cheers in assembly and they were very sad to see her go.”
And the pupil’s ensured Christine was given a proper send-off with a presentation before she joined the youngsters for a special party lunch.
