TEENAGERS have helped raise £511 with a One Night Only concert at Thornton Little Theatre.

Jack Sprigg, 17, and friend Mike Cowling, 19, recruited their friends for a special musical bonanza last month.

Their call to arms saw local dance groups and musical performers take to the stage at the Victoria Road East venue to showcase their talents.

And their efforts certainly paid off as the teens raised an impressive £511.

Jack, who is a sixth former at Arnold School in South Shore, decided to put the concert on after family members and friends were affected by cancer.

He said: “We’re really pleased by the amount we managed to raise. “A huge thanks to everybody who gave up their time to make the night a success.”
