A TEENAGER has died in the sea near Blackpool’s North Pier.

Blackpool Lifeboat was launched to rescue the 17-year-old boy who is believed to have been walking along the seawall opposite Gynn Square at 4.25 this afternoon when he fell into the water.

One crew member from the Inshore lifeboat pulled the boy from the sea and the emergency team immediately tried to resuscitate him.

However, he was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly after arriving at Blackpool Lifeboat Station.
