A teenager caused £6,000 of damage to a lifeboat.

Matthew Poole admitted tampering with the equipment, but the others involved refused to confess to police and were not charged.

Poole, 18, of Barton Road, St Annes, admitted causing £6,145 of damage with others to a lifeboat and lifting gear belonging to Fleetwood Nautical Campus.

Alison Quanbrough, Prosecutor, said on April 13 a fisherman called the Fleetwood Nautical Campus and said four youths were damaging the lifeboat.

Police caught up with the gang and only Poole admitted messing about with the equipment.

He was sentenced to a 14 weeks curfew from 7pm to 6am and ordered to pay £520 compensation plus a £180 court charge by Blackpool magistrates.
