THIS group are a real bunch of big losers.
Between them they have lost more than one thousand pounds!
Of the weight variety, thankfully.
The 15 Weight Watchers members, who all attend groups run by Gail Tyson, across central and South Blackpool, have shed more than 1,000 lbs since January.
Gail – who has been a Weight Watchers for more than 10 years – said: “I am so proud of them all. They have done fabulously well. They are an inspiration to the rest of the members.
“They are a mix of ages – from their 30s to 60s – and there are men and women.
“The great thing is they help each other with encouragement and support.”
Mum-of-three Kay, 57, from South Shore, has lost 90 lbs.
She went from a size 26-28 to a 14-16.
She said: “It’s not a diet, it’s a life change. Weight Watchers is easy to follow and great because everything is allowed.
“You can have a treat, you can have ice cream, you can eat chocolate, but it’s about moderation, fitting it in with your points and also about portion size.
“It has made a heck of a difference to my life. I can walk much further now, I will happily walk places.
“And I can go up the stairs without feeling out of breath. It’s brilliant, I have much more energy,
“And having the group there really helps, to encourage and support you. You can swap tips and give other people ideas to help them too.”
Debbie Britton, who has lost 101 lbs, has dramatically changed her dress size from a size 20 to a size 10.
The Marton mum-of-one said: “I have been on diets before and lost 4st, but put it all back on again. This time it’s different.
“The Pro Points system is easy to follow and it’s a lifestyle change.
“Having the other people to support and encourage you is great and Gail is a fantastic leader.
“I just feel much healthier, I have more energy, I go out more and feel more confident, before I would have been trying to cover up. I’d definitely recommend Weight Watchers to other people.”
