Subway shop raided by robber who ordered staff ‘not to scream’

A robber threatened staff and grabbed cash from the till of a Blackpool Subway store.

The incident happened at the sandwich chain’s Waterloo Road store at around 6.35pm yesterday.

A man, who was not carrying a weapon, entered the store and demanded cash from staff.

He then reached over and stole from the till before making his escape.

One staff member said she was told ‘not to scream’ by the man, who was described as white with a slim build.

He was wearing a dark jacket with a dark peaked cap at the time.

The Gazette understands he may have left the scene on a bike.

Police are still hunting for the man who carried out the robbery, who was captured on CCTV inside the store.
