SCHOOL corridors were exchanged for the sites of Shanghai during a recent trip to China.
A group of 31 pupils from Montgomery High School in Bispham made the awe-inspiring, 13 day trip in April.
They visited a Chinese school, became one of the first UK groups to ascend Tai Shan, a pilgrimage site, and walked a little visited section of the Great Wall of China.
They experienced a Chinese sleeper train and the 350kmph bullet trains in the country and feasted on a number on unusual Chinese delicacies including scorpions on sticks, and chicken heads and claws.
Simon Cox, a maths teacher at the All Hallows Road school said: “The students had experiences which will last a lifetime and which taught them a huge amount about different cultures and the wider world outside of the UK. After Shanghai one student described the experience as unforgettable.”
