Street stabbing: Man charged

A MAN has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Fleetwood.

Two men, from Fleetwood, an 18 and 20-year-old, were being held by police on suspicion of wounding with intent.

The teenager has since been released with no further action. The 20-year-old has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent.

Jake Knights of London Street in Fleetwood will appear before Fleetwood Mags today.

A 40-year-old man received stab wounds to the shoulder on Blakiston Street, Fleetwood, on Saturday night.

Det Sgt Andy Hoyle of Fleetwood CID said: “We are continuing to work on the case and at the moment we are still interested in speaking to any witnesses.

“We would like to speak to anyone who saw anything and has any information.”

The victim was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital with a “superficial stab wound”.

He discharged himself on Sunday morning.
