Fylde business owners have received civic thanks for their efforts to make their town centres look good for Christmas.

Approximately 30 traders in St Annes and Kirkham dressed their shop windows in the annual festive display competitions which has been judged by Fylde’s mayor for the last eight years.

Amid high standards which particularly impressed Fylde Mayor, Coun Kevin Eastham, the overall winner in St Annes was Soper’s Bespoke, the furnishings shop on the corner of Wood Street and St Andrew’s Road South.

St Annes runner-up was Age UK on Wood Street while BP Insurance, on The Crescent, took third place.

Kirkham’s contest was won by Trinity Hospice with second place going to Pink Tree Parties, while third was Celebrations. All three businesses are on Poulton Street.

Coun Eastham said: “Shopkeepers in both towns have done fantastically once again.

“It’s a pleasure for residents and visitors to see such displays and we are fortunate to have such dedicated traders.

“The standard of entry was superb yet again but Soper’s and Trinity Hospice each deserve their trophy and certificate.
