Three German Shepherd dogs found starving in Blackpool are “responding very well” to veterinary care, the RSPCA said today.

The dogs were found in the garden of a property on Grange Park almost two weeks ago.

Each dog remains in high spirits

They were taken to Norcross Vets for medical attention and are now recuperating at the RSPCA Longview Animal Centre in Stalmine.

RSPCA branch manager Martyn Tetchener, said: “They are all responding very well but remain under veterinary care, due to extreme weight loss and very bad skin conditions which will take some considerable time to overcome.

“However each dog remains in high spirits and shows great compassion and friendship to the staff whenever they attend to their needs.

“Should any further details on who these dogs and to whom they may belong to come to light, please contact the inspectors on 0300 1234999.”

An investigation continues into how the dogs were left in such a condition.
