FLEETWOOD Town staged the five Blackpool Schools’ Cup finals for years 7 to 11.
Three of the finals five were between Highfield and Montgomery and AllStars photographers attended the Year 7 match which turned out to be the most exciting, decided by a penalty shootout.
Highfield had the edge in the first half and took the lead. They had opportunities before Kyle Houghton scored with an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
Monty came out strongly after half-time, equalising through Joe Barratt.
Neither side could find a winner, though both sides had chances in extra time.
Highfield won the shootout 4-2 as man of the match Corey Parker made two fine saves.
The Year 8 final was a repeat in which Highfield emerged convincing 8-2 winners
Man of the match Liam Markey led the way with three goals and Tom Griffiths scored twice.
Also on target for the winners were Carnan Dawson, Josh O’Neil and Connor Fielding, who had played the first half in goal.
The year 9 final between St George’s and St Mary’s was goalless, though St George’s showed the greater stamina as 3-0 extra-time winners.
St Mary’s gained revenge in the Year 10 final, winning 4-0, while Montgomery finally got one over on Highfield in the year 11 showpiece, which they won 2-0.
