Blackpool stage star Anne Nolan says she would like to thank a mystery Good Samaritan.
The Nolan Sister and grandmother, who lives in the resort, thought she had lost her purse after a visit to family on Thursday night.
But she was shocked and delighted the next morning to find an anonymous kind-hearted resident had posted the item through her letterbox – with all contents intact – and a note.
Anne, who had a string of hits during the late 70s and early 80s with her sisters, said having the purse returned was a big relief.
She said: “Sometimes when I put my grandson in the car, I leave the purse on top of the car, so I can only think I did that and forgot and it fell off as I drove along.
“It didn’t have much cash inside, but had two lottery tickets, my debit card and credit card and so on.
“I was really surprised and touched someone had taken the trouble to return it.
“The note said: ‘I found this near the roundabout at Vicarage Lane, I hope this saves you any bother. Be lucky.’
“It was signed with an initial, but I couldn’t make it out.
“I just wanted to say thank you, but didn’t know how.
“I am really grateful, as it is a relief to have it back and does save me any trouble.
“It just goes to show there are some nice people around.
“It helps to restore your faith in people really.”
