Show off your whiskers at beard contest

The informal beard competition will take place at Scrooges Bar on Milbourne Street, Blackpool, on June 10 from 7pm until late.

Contestants are invited to take part in a number of light-hearted categories, including best beard, best moustache, best styled beard, and best fake beard.

Sandgrown Beardsmen founder Brian Eva said: “One of our lads is on that day cycling from Blackpool to Amsterdam to for Cancer Research, so any bit of cash that we make will go towards that.

“Hopefully we’re going to have some other guys from around the North West coming round.

“We have got some coming from Liverpool.

“It’s all for charity so there will be a small fee at the door.

“We’re looking at £2 for spectators and £5 for people who want to compete.

“It’s nothing serious, we just want to put on a good night, have a bit of fun and get people involved in the competition and club.”
