A man did not tell a woman about his past as a sex offender, a court was told.

And he allowed her children to sleep in the same bed as himself.

Richard Ball, 38, of Shannon Street,Blackpool, was made the subject of an interim sexual offences prevention order by the town’s magistrates yesterday.

Ashley Fisher, for Ball, said his client did not object to the interim order but would contest the full order in due course.

Until the full order is made Ball is prohibited from having any contact with children under the age of 16 unless supervised by an adult aware of his previous convictions.

He must not have any children visit him at places he may be staying and he must not enter any premises where a child under the age of 16 may be present.

The court heard that in 2004 Ball was convicted in Coventry of three offences of indecent assault of a seven-year-old girl.

As a result he was put on the Sex Offender’s Register. He then moved to Blackpool and police found him with a woman who was unaware of his sexual offending. Ball said he accepted the prohibitions on his behaviour.
