FORGET lucky shirts and magic boots – if Blackpool win today all eyes will be on one very little, very lucky, monster.

With its shock of green hair and magic wand, six-year-old Megan Murphy’s money monster has captured Seasiders’ boss Ian Holloway’s heart.

Six year-old Blackpool fan Megan Murphy has written a letter to Ian Holloway praising the team, and made them a 'money monster'

The young fan, who heads down to Bloomfield Road with her grandad, Lloyd Thomas, decided to make the little creature as a thank you to Pool’s manager and stars.

In her letter the Layton Primary School pupil wrote how proud she was of the team and the effort they’d put in – a sentiment Holloway was only too happy to hear.

The Seasiders boss said: “I got a wonderful gift from a young girl called Megan Murphy, who’s six.

“She made me a money monster.

“The letter just said hope you go up again but thanks for another wonderful season because I know you’re all trying your best. That just about sums it up for me and I told the lads that.

“As Megan said, when have these lads never given you a good standard and a good shift? Hardly ever, and let’s not take that for granted.”

The monster will be in the dug-out cheering the team on in today’s crucial FA Cup Fourth Round tie against League One Sheffield Wednesday, while season-ticket holder Megan will be watching from the North Stand with her grandad.

She said: “I made the monster because Blackpool are my favourite team, I go and watch them every week and I thought the monster would help.

“It’s lucky because I put my spends in it.

“My mum helped me to make it and my gran wrote the letter with me.

“I’m happy they like it and I hope it will help them today. I think they will do well.”
