BUDDING stars are in with a chance of getting fans Rockin’ All Over The Green this summer by taking to the stage with one of the world’s biggest bands.
One Fylde coast act is being given the chance to support music legends Status Quo when they rock Lytham Green in August.
The once-in-a-lifetime prize is being offered by the team behind Lytham Proms, who want to make sure this year’s event is one the local community will never forget.
Peter Taylor, from Cuffe and Taylor Event Management, said: “We have been thinking how we can offer a local band the opportunity since we announced Status Quo would be performing.
“Already we have been inundated with people wanting to get involved.
“So we figured this was the best way to bring all these people together.
“The opportunity available to the winning band is huge, on the night there will be lots of music industry people coming to watch, not to mention agents and producers alike.
“Although Status Quo and Katherine Jenkins are massive names, we want to add a local feel to the event.”
Lytham Proms is being held over two nights for the first time this year, with 10,000 people expected to descend on the green across the weekend.
Status Quo will headline the first night on Friday, August 5 before opera sensation Katherine Jenkins performs on Saturday, August 6.
Dubbed “Fylde’s Got the Rock Factor”, bands who think they’ve got what it takes to enter the competition will eventually battle it out in an X-Factor style competition at Lowther Pavilion.
Entries can be submitted via YouTube and will be judged by a panel of industry experts, with the best invited to perform for the judges on Friday, March 18.
Every member of the band needs to have an FY or PR postcode, with the winners performing with Status Quo and the runners-up bagging VIP tickets to the event.
The festival’s organisers are also offering the winner of this year’s Fylde’s Got Talent a slot over the weekend.

Tickets for the event are still available from See Tickets and the box office at Lowther Pavilion.
