PUPILS from Woodlands School took a trip down to the riverside to learn more about the natural environment.
Youngsters were given the chance to explore local wildlife at Wyre Estuary Country Park in Stanah, and learned about how people live by the River Wyre.
Phil Seddon, Year 7 and 8 teacher at the Whitegate Drive school in Blackpool, said: “This half-term, Year 7 and 8 students have been visiting the countryside of Fylde and Wyre as part of our cross-curricular theme Down by the Riverside.
“We think it is vital for our students to engage with their environment and the wider community.
“The students really enjoy visiting places of natural beauty.
“We took eight students to Wyre Estuary Country Park and Scorton picnic area, they loved it.
“We talked about the River Wyre, the way of life for people living around the river and looked for wildlife.”
