HO Ho Ho! Get into the festive spirit early with the third annual Trinity Hospice Santa Dash.

This year, the event will take place on Sunday, December 2, starting at 11am at The Sandcastle, Blackpool.

The two-mile run along the Promenade is an event for all the family – even the pet dog can join in.

Last year, 700 Santas braved freezing conditions to raise £17,000 for Trinity and Brian House Children’s Hospice, and organisers from the Bispham-based charity hope the figure will be even higher this time.

Linzi Young, Trinity’s fundraising manager, said: “It isn’t a race, so people can run, jog or walk the route from the Sandcastle to Central Pier and back.

“The sight of so many people dressed as Santa is just an amazing start to the Christmas season and we already have a lot of people who took part last time signing up for more.”

Registration is open now and costs £10 for adults and £5 for children, with a special family of four price of £25.

The cost includes free Santa suits or reindeer antlers and noses for the under 10s.
