IT is his busiest time of year, but Santa left the elves working and took some time off to meet his adoring fans.
And there were plenty of them at Poulton Christmas Festival last night.
The market square was transformed into a festive hub, with stalls-a-plenty, fairground rides and the man in red himself, surrounded by children eager to pass on their Christmas wishes.
It was a first-time experience for little Isobel Trippier, who, at just two years old, was happily dancing around to the seasonal music.
Mum Alison said the family had come from Thornton just to see Santa and the festival.
She said: “It’s just a lovely experience. It’s a fantastic atmosphere and it’s great to see the community pull together. I’ve never seen Poulton so busy.”
And Alison’s nine-year-old niece, Beth Kirkham, said she was having a brilliant time.
The town centre was bustling with people visiting market stalls selling festive sweets, treats and stocking fillers, and the surrounding shops made the most of the boost to trade.
