THE atmosphere was electric in Lytham as thousands of people joined The Voice for the Lights Switch On.
Fylde’s own Kurtis Reid, winner of Fylde’s Got Talent opened proceedings after the success of his Lytham Proms gig, followed by Freckleton Brass Band, X Factor star Stephanie McMichael.
Boy band Juice, vocalist Peter Antony and party band The Love Rats also pulled in crowds.
Organisers closed off parts of Clifton Street to allow for around 2,500 people to join the spectacle.
The crowd was parted to make way for the 300 members of Lytham Community Choir, for their first festive performance of 2012.
Graham Warrington, musical director for the choir, said: “There was a good turnout and a nice atmosphere.
“And it was the first time we’ve done a concert without it raining, we loved it.”
