EXCITEMENT is building ahead of Elton John’s historic Promenade opener in Blackpool this weekend – and the star himself says he is looking forward to it.
Millions of people around the globe saw the Rocket Man perform a string of hits at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert last Monday.
And thousands are preparing to be entertained by Sir Elton when he officially launches the new Tower Festival Headland on Saturday.
And Sir Elton himself said: “I’m really looking forward to visiting Lancashire again and enjoying the Blackpool sea air.
“I hear some very special Blackpool rock has been created just for me.
“The concerts so far on this British tour have been fabulous fun, whatever the weather.”
A special rock limited edition Rocketman rock will be presented to Sir Elton while he is in Blackpool and is available to people who buy the last few remaining VIP tickets for the performance.
Natalie Wyatt, Managing Director of Marketing Blackpool, said: “There’s a real buzz around as we get into the final stages of preparing for this massive gig.
“This is a very exciting event for everyone who lives in Blackpool. We are expecting a fantastic evening and know people are going to be talking about this for a long time to come.”
