People in Blackpool are more likely to be happy when they turn 45, a survey found.

A study by dating website Love Begins At, with YouGov, asked adults in the resort to rate themselves against Carl Jung’s five elements of happiness – physical and mental health, personal and intimate relationships, standard of living and satisfactory work, appreciation of art and nature, being aware of world issues and news, and ability to cope with life’s ups and downs.

The 45-plus age group in Blackpool came out top in three of the five measures – 63 per cent felt content, 81 per cent had strong relationships with family and friends and 63 per cent felt they had a good standard of living. The 45-plus category were more likely to feel content in their current life stage, than youngsters.
