A GRATEFUL man has shown his appreciation to the Fylde lifesaving team that took him to hospital.

Kurt Foster, 19, from Burnley, visited BAE Systems, Warton, to thank Lancashire Police Air Support Unit which transported him to hospital after he suffered serious injuries during a motorcycle accident.

Mr Foster was unconscious for eight weeks after the accident in October and spent five months in hospital, being treated for a serious head trauma, a broken left leg and liver injuries.

He said: “I would like to thank the members of the public who I have been told assisted me at the scene, the paramedics and all other medical staff who tended to me and the police officers who dealt with the incident.

“Finally a really big thank you to the Air Support Unit for getting me airlifted to the hospital safely and quickly – I am indebted to them as I feel they have saved my life.”

The Air Support Unit was sent to help Mr Foster because the Air Ambulance was unavailable at the time.
