Children at a Blackpool primary school got a glimpse into the past in a week-long history event.

Pupils at St Nicholas’ Primary School dressed up in the popular fashion trends of the past 70 years to mark the end of the educational event.

Deputy head teacher Claire Taylor said: “We have had the whole week looking into the history of Blackpool going all the way back to the 1940s.

“We have had talks from local people. We have had a gentleman who served in the Second World War, and a couple who had a lot of information about Marton Moss going back hundreds of years. The children were all amazed.

“The children have learned so much, particularly from the people who have come in to talk to them.

“We are looking at possibly doing it again with a different theme – looking at Blackpool, but with an art or music focus.”
