A mum has spoken of her relief after her stolen minibus – which she and her husband rely on so they can care for their disabled son – was found in Cleveleys.
Cara Ashworth said the black Renault Traffic, which seats nine people, was recovered by police from Warren Drive after being spotted late on Sunday.
It had been stolen at some point between 11pm on Friday and 3am the following morning, from the family’s home in Carleton.
Officers tested the minibus for forensic evidence before saying Cara, 36, could pick it up yesterday.
She said: “I was told it had been found at around midnight and I couldn’t sleep because I was so relieved.”
Inside the van were two children’s car seats, a buggy, and a double-buggy used by three-year-old old Jacob, who has additional needs and needs to be restrained for his own safety.
Thousands of people read a Gazette article about the theft over the weekend, while Cara also appealed for information on Facebook, which she believes led to the vehicle being found, she added.
