Rail union members will be outside Blackpool North station on Monday urging travellers to support their fight to preserve services.
The RMT union says it will be “hitting the new year running” in its battle against threats to jobs, increases in fares and cuts to services on the Northern and Trans-Pennine Express routes.
The RMT campaign is taking five key messages out to the travelling public:
- Say no to driver only operated trains
- Keep ticket offices open
- Keep stations staffed and safe
- Stop cuts to the Transpennine Express Network
- Oppose big fare increases.
Union members will be at Blackpool North between 5.30pm and 6.45pm and will be handing out leaflets and talking to commuters about the need to mainain good services and to ask their opinion on new year ticket price rises.
