Women are being urged to make every step count by handing in their sponsorship money from the Blackpool Race for Life.

More than 2,800 women and children took part in the 5k event on the Promenade and it is estimated more than £120,000 has been raised.

But organisers at Cancer Research UK are asking those who gave their time and energy to take one more step – by sending in the cash as quickly as possible.

Liz Booth, Race for Life event organiser for Blackpool, said: “Many people don’t realise their entry fee only covers the cost of the event. It’s the sponsorship that really makes a difference. So, whatever the amount, we’re asking

everyone to return their sponsorship money as soon as possible.”
