Pupils' shoe box goal to help children this Christmas

This year the St Hilda's citizens have been supporting Operation Christmas Child which is organised by Samaritan's Purse.

We have been filling shoe boxes full of gifts.

For example: small teddies, bars of soap, toothpaste, face cloths, pens, pencils and so much more.

This year we have filled 27 shoe boxes.

These have all been wrapped with labels on each shoe boxes to show if it’s for a girl or a boy and what age it’s aimed at.

Our goal was to fill 20 shoe boxes by November 10.

Also we were one of the lucky 100 schools to get an operation Christmas child teddy bear which we are donating to our infant department for star of the day.

We have really enjoyed filling the shoe boxes and we would like to say a big thank you to the parents and children who donated gifts and money to help the people who aren’t as lucky as us.

We really do recommend this as a great way of helping others and look forward to collecting even more boxes next time!
