AN international project between a Fylde coast and a French school has won a European Award of Excellence.
Lytham St Annes Technology and Performing Arts College has been awarded a European Quality Label for the excellence of its work in an online twinning project, QR- U?
Teacher Sandra Underwood, the school’s Link coordinator, set up the project with Comenius partner school, College Notre Dame, in Bressuire, France.
It allowed students to share ideas, knowledge and information about their lives and culture online with one another in order to improve their language skills and learn about other cultures.
Mrs Underwood said: “I am delighted the project has been held in such high regard.
“Our aim was to engage students in both learning a language and discovering new uses of ICT while working collaboratively.
“Students were able to learn about each other and other cultures through the use of new digital media.”
The school’s work is now available to view on the eTwinning website www.etwinning.net
