Firefighters were called to a blaze in a three-storey building which ripped through a top-floor bedroom.

Crews from Blackpool, Bispham and Fleetwood were called to the fire on Beach Road, Cleveleys, at 12.10pm yesterday.

No one was hurt or injured as a result of the fire which was put out within an hour of crews arriving on the scene.

A Lancashire Fire spokesman said: “Four teams of firefighters with breathing apparatus and horse reels extinguished the fire.

“There was severe damage to the second floor bedroom but fortunately no one was in the property at the time.

“An investigation is now underway to establish how the fire started.”
