The popular local chain wants planning permission to open up in the Teanlowe Day Centre, at the back of the Village Walks complex, documents lodged with Wyre Council revealed.

The centre reopened its doors as an independent community centre last November after being refurbished, with part of the building freed up for commercial let.

Seniors is seeking permission to change the use of the premises, and to install a new shop front.

That will feature an aluminium frame and double glazed safety glass, papers said, while existing windows will be blocked up.

No decision has been made by the council yet.

Nobody at Seniors was immediately available to comment.
