ONE of Blackpool’s most famous hoteliers, Pat Mancini, has died aged 72.

The owner of Promenade favourite The Queens today passed away surrounded by her family and close friends after a battle with cancer.

Mrs Mancini suffered what was at first thought to be a stroke, just 4 days after suffering a devastating fire at the Queens Hotel in July of last year, but further investigations soon revealed the true cause to be a malignant brain tumour.

Despite being told she only had a short while left to live, Pat continued in her typically stalwart ways, telling only a very few very close family and friends of her condition and was determined to continue to attend to her business affairs and remain resident in the Queens Hotel.

She leaves daughter Pamela, two granddaughters Adele and Gemma, and great-grandchildren Joshua, Michael and Harry. She is also survived by her sister Sharon and brother Paul.
