Pool swoop for Plymouth defender

BLACKPOOL are set to sign Plymouth defender Marcel Seip.

Reports in Devon claim the defender will link-up with the Pool squad this afternoon at team hotel in Bristol before signing on loan.

Boss Ian Holloway was forced into the transfer market after injuries to Neal Eardley and Rob Edwards during Saturday's 2-0 win against Peterborough.

Seip, who has made over 100 appearances for Plymouth since joining from Heerenveen in 2006, was put on the transfer list by Argyle manager Paul Sturrock after a dressing room bust up between the pair in August.

The defender is a familiar face for Pool boss Holloway who managed him during his spell at Home Park.

He will go straight into the squad to face Bristol City on Tuesday night.
