Turn out was 67 per cent which is about 10 per cent higher than the turnout in Blackpool South for 2015 General Election when it was 56.8 per cent.

The pound fell sharply on financial markets overnight as early results in the EU referendum suggested the Leave campaign was performing above expectations.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

The local results will be declared by local counting officers and then transmitted to 12 regional headquarters. In Lancashire’s case it will be Manchester Town Hall.
