Postal voters in Blackpool are being asked to supply a refreshed signature, if they wish to continue to vote by post.
round 5,000 postal voters who originally completed their postal vote application form more than five years ago are being sent letters and forms requesting a refreshed new signature.
Electors must respond by supplying a new signature on the form attached to the letter by no later than September 12 or their postal vote will be cancelled.
If an elector is unable to provide a refreshed signature due to medical reasons then a signature waiver can be arranged by contacting Electoral Services.
Electors are able to request a new postal vote application form to re-apply at any time.
People are being urged to help to keep costs to a minimum by returning their forms as soon as possible.
