A GRANDMOTHER who is fund-raising in memory of her beloved granddaughter who died from meningitis is holding two events in June.

And the 74-year-old has already raised £3,000. Her granddaughter Jodie Willan, from Essex, was 17 when she was struck down by meningitis and encephalitis in April 2010.

Margaret has organised a coffee morning, to take place on Tuesday, June 12, at Poulton Methodist Church, to raise funds. It will take place at 10am, tickets £2, there will be cakes, jewellery, clothes and bric-a-brac stalls.

A concert will be held on June 23, by the Capricorn Singers at Thornton Little Theatre, 7.30pm.
