POLICE are continuing investigations into an alleged sexual assault by Fleetwood town striker Ritchie Allen.
The player, who is currently on loan at AFC Fylde, was arrested following an incident in a Blackpool night club on July 9 and was bailed to return to the police station.
But Mr Allen, 29, has now had his bail extended until October 19.
At the time of the arrest he was questioned with two other Preston men following the complaint at Infusion on General Street.
Mr Allen has had two spells with Fleetwood Town, punctuated by a stint with AFC Fylde who he helped to promotion from the Evo Stick First North division last season.
He returned to Fleetwood in January and was immediately loaned back to AFC Fylde for the remainder of the season to get match practice and help with their promotion push.
His first spell at Fleetwood ended in December 2007, playing for Northwich Victoria before moving to AFC Fylde.
He has previously played for Bamber Bridge Football Club and the amateur side Acregate Lane Labour Club in Preston.
