A Fylde coast Army wife has been doing her bit for a good cause.

Laura Hindle, whose husband Karl is a Lieutenant Corporal based in the King’s Division Band, at Weeton Barracks, has coordinated the compiling of a calendar, named Corps Blimey! Pin Ups on Parade – featuring military wives in a cheeky calendar to raise money for SAAFA, the national armed forces charity.

Twelve women, the majority of whom are from Brompton Barracks in Kent, got their best pouts on to pose for the fun
calendar.

They wanted to make it classy, and suitable for all the family, with just a hint of sexiness.

Laura, 24, who was the project manager for the calendar and also stars as Miss July, said: “The calendar has been produced at our own cost and are asking for donations of around £5 – with 100 per cent of the sales money going to the charity. SSAFA is a fantastic charity, which helps military personal and their families.

“We decided to do a charity calendar with a difference. Instead of taking all their clothes off, the lovely wives decided to keep some clothes on, to make the calendar family-friendly.

“A lot of hard work, dedication and commitment went in to this calendar by all the people involved, everyone worked unpaid for long hours all so they could raise lots of money for SAAFA. It is a cause which is of course close to all our hearts.

“The photographer, Lisa Kennedy, was fantastic and a lot of the women commented doing the calendar had really boosted their confidence. And we had great fun doing it.

“We would love people to support us in our efforts and we think the calendar is a high quality product, which will make people smile.”
