NORTH Pier bosses have denied claims a wood company has been put in danger of collapse after its operating company was liquidated.
Steve Clarke, operating as Red Rose Timber, claimed he could go out of business after Premier Pier Blackpool Ltd collapsed.
But a spokesman for North Pier said: “We would like to stress Premier Pier Blackpool Ltd, nor any company associated with North Pier or its owners has had any supplies from the timber company Red Rose Timber as stated in an article by the Blackpool Gazette.
“We have no knowledge of Steve Clarke who has quoted that he is owed £230,000 by Premier Pier Blackpool Ltd. Timber required for North Pier comes from the local company S&S Timber Supplies Ltd, a company who has had a long, happy and continuous association with the owners of the pier.”
A creditor list for the liquidated company has been published this week – and Mr Clark’s company is not among them. The pier will continue operating as normal.
A spokesman for Red Rose Timber Ltd, based in Hyndburn, said: “This company is not us. We are not creditors to Premier Pier Blackpool Ltd and are in a sound financial position.”
