The calorie laden haul – which included several bars of Galaxy chocolate – was stolen from the Tesco Express store in Marsh Mill Village, Fleetwood Road North, Thornton on Friday April 20.

A man is said to have entered the store posing as a customer before filling up his bag and making his escape.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We want to speak to a man in connection with the theft of a substantial amount of chocolate. He entered the Tesco store posing as a customer at around 9pm on the Friday night.

“He made his way to the chocolate aisle where he filled a rucksack he brought into the store with him with chocolate. We believe there was around £50 worth of stolen goods.”
