A PENSIONER has died after colliding with a car transporter head-on.
Trevor Bumstead, 77, from Lytham, died at Blackpool Victoria Hospital after his VW Passat car collided with the front of a parked VW Transporter last Wednesday evening.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward as they continue their investigation into the crash.
The collision occurred around 6.15pm on St Patrick’s Road South when Mr Bumstead’s orange car hit the unattended transporter on the St Annes street.
Mr Bumstead was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital and his injuries were initially believed to be minor.
However, his condition deteriorated and he had been in a critical condition since last Wednesday evening.
Anybody who witnessed the collision is now being asked to contact police.
PC Michael Bristow from Blackpool road policing unit, said: “This is a very tragic incident.
“I would appeal to anybody that was in the St Patrick’s Road South area at the relevant time on Wednesday that witnessed this incident or with any information that could assist our investigation to contact us.”
