Pens at the ready for poetry sessions

Residents tested their rhyming skills as part of National Poetry Day.

Anthony Briscoe, who is poet in resident at Revoe, held a workshop at Ibbison Court to explore word play.
As part of his role he has also spent time in barber shops in Central Drive in order to bring people into contact with poetry in a social setting.
Another poet in residence in Blackpool is Lisa Bower, who is based at Central Library.She is co-founder of Pub Poets in Blackpool, and will be running workshops on October 13 and 20 between 4pm and 5.30pm. The poets-in-residence project has been organised by Blackpool’s Arts Team during October to introduce more folk to poetry.
