A man breached the terms of his sex offender order when he failed to register his new address in Blackpool.
The town’s magistrates heard how 20-year-old James Wright left his home town of Derby after his house was vandalised and he was threatened because of offences he had committed there.
He arrived in Blackpool and under the terms of him being on the Sex Offender Register register he had three days to tell police where he was living.
In fact, it took Wright of Haigh Road, South Shore, nine days in which to inform the authorities.
John McLaren, defending, said: “He was late but it was not a deliberate attempt to go into hiding.”
Wright who admitted the breach was put on a six-week curfew.
