ONE of Blackpool’s best community facilities is set to battle against the region’s most impressive buildings for a property ‘Oscar’.
The Oracle, on St Annes Road in South Shore, is up for the Community Benefit honour as part of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors North West Awards.
The £4.2m state of the art youth hub, which was funded by the Big Lottery, is on a shortlist of 42 property schemes.
Jane Lathwood, chairman of the RICS North West judging panel, said: “Many of the projects that have made the shortlist are of an exceptional and exemplary standard so I expect the panel and I will find the second round of judging extremely tough.”
The second round of the judging process is currently taking place.
The winners will be announced at a glittering black-tie ceremony held at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club on Thursday May 9.
