Would-be volunteers are being urged to go along to the council’s Lightworks Depot on Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool Business Park, on Wednesday June 7 between 6pm and 8pm.

They will be able to have a tour behind the scenes at the depot and speak to staff from the Illuminations department.

It is hoped to recruit volunteers for a number of tasks including delivering and selling individual lamps, which are personalised and then put into the annual display.

Other jobs which people can volunteer for are running stalls, street collections, holding fundraising events and helping out with coffee mornings.

The work will help ensure the continued success of the Illuminations.
