THIS mischievous lady enjoyed being in the limelight as she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Olive Carter, of Alexandra Nursing Home, Poulton, was delighted to receive the coveted telegram from the Queen to mark her milestone birthday on Saturday.
Linda Crossley, a member of staff at the Moorland Road nursing home, said: “Olive is a prankster. She loves a drop of whisky before bed and always grabs your bum if you are walking passed her!
“We, here at the nursing home, are Olive’s family. She is a loving, affectionate lady who lives life to the full.”
Since moving into the Alexandra four years ago, Mrs Carter, who has lived in Poulton her whole life, has slotted perfectly into life at the nursing home.
Hayley West, who also works at the nursing home, said: “Olive is the most active person in the dementia unit. She is extremely mobile, even at 100, and is always dancing!
“She is a very bubbly and cheeky person. Olive loves to be the centre of attention, and is always joking.
“She was once married, and is forever saying ‘Life would be perfect if I had a man!’”
