A South Shore nurse has scooped a top award for impressing with her outstanding work at university.

Julie Woodhead has picked up the top annual Priory Hospital Preston Nursing Award for her dazzling success during her studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The 29-year-old gained a first class honours degree and was honoured by the Priory Group, a Preston independent hospital which specialises in the management of acute psychiatric illness.

Julie said: “I am overwhelmed and proud to have to have received this award in recognition of my efforts. “I’ve really enjoyed my course.”
