FOREIGN delegates joined staff at a pioneering shop to celebrate the Fair Trade work being done in a Wyre town.

Garstang has renewed its status as a leading Fair Trade community for the sixth year during a ceremony which welcomed guests from Sauda in Norway – the first town of its kind to promote the ethical project.

The ceremony took place inside Garstang’s FIG Tree shop, the world’s first international fair trade visitor centre.

Its policy of supporting the Fair Trade deal ensures specific goods, food and drink are sold throughout the town and regular meetings are held to develop involvement.
