A landmark school will break new ground when it provides the venue for a new theatre show aimed at Fylde’s youngest residents later this month.

Babies Overboard, being staged by the Horse and Bamboo company from October 26 to 29 and programmed by Lytham-based Fable Arts, will be the first time AKS has hired out its drama studio to a commercial theatre company – but it’s a move the school, on Clifton Drive South, St Annes, is keen to embrace.

Paul Crouch, development director at AKS, said: “We had enjoyed working with the Fable team at The Festival of Stories last summer when our performance of ‘& Other Stories’ appeared in the same line-up as Horse and Bamboo’s work, so we knew the work was going to be high quality.”

The stagings of Babies Overboard at AKS will be preceded by a series of free to attend Stay and Play sessions – at Freckleton Village Memorial Hall on Tuesday October 18, Park View 4U Eco Pod, Lytham on Wednesday, October 19 and St Michael’s Church Hall, Kirkham on Friday, October 21, all at 11.30am.
